The Bleasdale Generations Shiraz 2018 offers aromas of blackberry and liquorice on the nose. The palate features flavours of ripe plums and other dark berries, layered with liquorice, pepper and fresh spices. This is an elegant style of shiraz with many layers of complexity. Bleasdale Vineyards is Langhorne Creek’s founding winery. Established in 1850 by English migrant Frank Potts, Bleasdale remains one of Australia’s oldest wineries. Their wines source vineyards are situated on the floodplains of the Bremer River in Langhorne Creek, South Australia.
Cellar 17’s tasters say, an interesting and complex Shiraz. A spicy, peppery, full bodied drop without the high alcohol hot taste.
This wine rated 95 Points in the 2021 Halliday Wine Companion
“It starts with a waft of meaty reduction before florals, licorice and Middle Eastern spices take over. There’s more: black plums, charry oak and a savoury overlay with plush tannins and a certain vivacity. Appeals now, but will further reward those with patience.” – Jane Faulkner
